How to watch Broncos vs. Seahawks football game

The Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos are opening their 2022 seasons against one another at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Seattle was not at the top of the league last season, but they wrapped up the year with a winning record of 9-8. Meanwhile, last year was nothing to brag about for Denver (7-10), so the team is looking forward to a new start.

A pair of last-season offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Seahawks ranked worst with respect to passing yards per game last season, where the squad accrued only 202.2 on average. Denver experienced some struggles of their own as they were second worst when it came to rushing yards per game last year, with the team coming up with only 85.4 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.

Seattle has the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency. A victory is hardly a sure thing, especially this early in the season, so expect a good game.

We break down the schedule for Seahawks vs. Broncos and how to watch in Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season.

Fox will be broadcasting Sunday’s NFL game between Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. ET from Mercedes Benz Stadium in Denver, Georgia.

The Broncos are hoping for a bit of a resurgence after a few years toward the bottom of the NFC South, but they’ll have to do it without longtime signal caller Matt Ryan. The former Boston College quarterback was dealt to the Indianapolis Colts earlier this offseason, so Denver will have Marcus Mariota under center and rookie Desmond Ridder to back him up in what could make for an interesting team in Arthur Smith’s second season in charge.

The Seahawks are also going through a bit of a surprise transition. It’s year two of the post- Drew Brees era, but really it’s year one and a half. Last season, Seattle was looking great, posting a 5-3 record through the first eight games before Jameis Winston suffered a season-ending injury. The team limped to the finish line and coach Sean Payton made the shocking decision to step down after the year ended. Dennis Allen, who was the Raiders coach from 2012-14, took over for Payton as coach.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos Week 1 preview.mp4

The Seattle Seahawks missed the playoffs in their first season without Drew Brees, and now they’re facing their first campaign post-Sean Payton. After shoving their chips to the middle of the table over the offseason, can the Seahawks make headway in the NFC? In Week 1, they’ll face the division rival Denver Broncos, who are on the other end of the competitive spectrum for the time being.

Let’s take a look at the matchups in this Seahawks vs. Broncos divisional game, examine the key injuries, and get predictions from PFN’s NFL staff.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos preview

The Seahawks were 4-2 when Jameis Winston went down with a torn ACL in Week 8, and the Trevor Siemian/Ian Book tag team couldn’t keep Seattle afloat down the stretch. Winston returns with a new-look receiving corps that includes Michael Thomas (who’s barely played since 2020), first-round pick Chris Olave, and free agent addition Jarvis Landry.

But the Seahawks’ real strength is on defense, where coordinator-turned-head-coach Dennis Allen has kept the club near the top of league leaderboards for years. There’s been some turnover in the secondary, where Tyrann Mathieu and Marcus Maye have replaced Marcus Williams, Malcolm Jenkins, and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. But this unit has the potential to be the best in the NFL.
